I love designing and building custom furniture. Here are a few projects I've tackled over the years for myself, clients and friends.
I found a cool table base and gave it a new top. This table fit great in my guest room which has a film production theme, so I decided on a decoupage top with film posters from classic movies. I made the top out of 3/4"MDF and found an arrangement of images I liked. I painted on a coat of polyurethane finish to the MDF to act like a glue. The posters were positioned one by one removing any air bubbles. Once they were all in place and dry, I coated them all with a few coats of polyurethane for a durable finish.
King Bed to Daybed conversion. You can read more about this in my January 2020 blog post. It started with a beautiful, dark wood stained, king size bed. I cut the footboard in half to make the sides and built a base to support a single mattress and connect everything together. The client later requested that I make it a little wider to accommodate an adjustable bed. The client did the final paint and it came out great.
