Adirondack chair build

A friend bought over some plans from www.plansinwood.com for an adirondack rocking chair. It was my first time building from paper templates and first time building a rocking chair. We cut out the paper templates and traced them onto 3/4" pine boards from a hardware store, cut them out on the bandsaw, disk sanded them to their shape and routed some edges. I made the rockers out of some 1 1/2" pieces laminated together. The assembly was awkward not knowing exactly what piece went where and why and what tolerances were critical. Usually when I design something or build from scratch I have thought through all of the parts and assembly process. As with all first builds, it wasn't quite perfect, but now we know the design and process and can use it as a springboard for our own designs. We decided we didn't like the exposed screws and I'm not a fan of the back support design. The smell of the fresh cut pine was great.
